Problem
Lussilia wanted her concert to create meaningful connection among Venezuelan and Latin American migrants, not just deliver a performance. Traditional concert formats don't facilitate the intimate reflection and community bonding she envisioned for her audience who share experiences of displacement and resilience.
Solution
I designed an interactive postcard experience featuring six Venezuelan locations. Audience members wrote messages to their younger selves, which were redistributed randomly, creating an exchange of wisdom between strangers. Combined with Lussilia's personal migration story, this transformed her concert into a communal ritual, deepening her connection with the audience while fostering belonging among attendees.

To conclude
This project was both fun and deeply meaningful to work on. Being an immigrant myself, I understand how difficult it can be to stay connected with what you've left behind. It was healing to create something that helped other immigrants, many with more complex migration experiences than my own, reconnect with their roots and past selves, and reflect on how they've grown and how far they've come in building new lives.
